Worship is the heart of our life together. We gather each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Our time together is joyful, relaxed and engaging.
Sunday Morning Child Care and Children’s Worship
Our infant nursery is located in room #114 on our Children’s Ministry hallway immediately behind the sanctuary. If you are unfamiliar with our facilities, an usher will happily guide you.
At a designated point in the service, younger children are invited to meet our childcare giver to go to Children’s Worship in Room #112. You are welcome to walk with your child before returning to worship. During this worship experience a Bible story will be presented at an age-appropriate level. Of course, if you prefer to keep your child in worship with you, you are welcome to do so. Children’s Worship Kits with activities to keep your child engaged are available in the Narthex.
Worship in Music
FPCs music ministry strives to embrace eclectic musical styles with both contemporary and traditional elements. The program provides variety in the presentation of music that is both performed by worship leaders and sung by the congregation. It seeks to be dynamic and meaningful by engaging both the head and heart.
Our Book of Order (PCUSA) states: “Through the ages and from varied cultures, the Church has developed many other forms of congregational song, accompanied by a great array of instruments. We draw from this rich repertoire in the Service for the Lord’s Day, singing glory to God. (W-3.020)”
The Service for the Lord’s Day
Christian worship gives all glory and honor, praise and thanksgiving to the holy, triune God. We are gathered in worship to glorify the God who is present and active among us— particularly through the gifts of Word and Sacrament. We are sent out in service to glorify the same God who is present and active in the world.
God acts with grace; we respond with gratitude. God claims us as beloved children; we proclaim God’s saving love. God redeems us from sin and death; we rejoice in the gift of new life. This rhythm of divine action and human response—found throughout Scripture, human history, and everyday events—shapes all of Christian faith, life, and worship.
Jesus Christ is the embodiment of God’s gracious action in history and the model for our grateful response to God. In Jesus we find the full and clear revelation of who God is; in him we also discover who God is calling us to be. Therefore we worship Jesus Christ as Lord, even as he leads us in the worship and service God desires.

Our music program is designed to provide for the needs of worship, to provide Christian education and fellowship opportunities for all participants, to provide both challenging and attainable skill levels for singers and ringers, to teach ancient and modern literature, and to provide the opportunity to work and care for each other in small-groups.
The Chancel Choir sings anthems and leads the congregational singing for our traditional worship services. It also sings a major work about once a year, often in conjunction with hosting an ecumenical choral event. Rehearsals are weekly.
Psalm 150 is our contemporary worship praise team. The singers are accompanied by guitars, electric bass, piano, and percussion. Psalm 150 can include youth as well as adult members, and rehearses weekly.
Bell Choir Our bell choir utilizes five octaves of Schulmerich handbells, meeting weekly from September – May. Occasionally the choir travels to perform in the community, or to regional/national handbell events.
