First Presbyterian Church offers a variety of small groups for adults, including Sunday School classes, choirs, or service opportunities in our community. Here are some more! Take a look and see if one of these is right for you!

Adult Christian Education

What We Offer

Our Christian Education program provides opportunities to develop and nurture a closer personal relationship with Christ through a variety of means, including Bible study, discussion, sharing, fellowship and prayer. We offer Sunday School classes and other educational opportunities in order to provide care, nurture, and support for people of all ages.

SUNDAY SCHOOL SCHEDULE – We offer Sunday School classes for all ages during the school year, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:20 a.m.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

  • Dean Bailey Class: Dean Bailey Room The Dean Bailey class places emphasis on scripture based studies. Along with studying different books of the Bible, the class will also focus on particular Biblical topics.

  • Disciples Class: Room 210 The Disciples class is designed for people that want to learn more about what the Bible teaches and how we can become disciples by applying those lessons.

  • Spiritual Journey Class: Room 200 We are a group of Christian friends that gather each week to study a passage in the Bible, and discuss how it impacts who we are and what we are personally and collectively facing in the world. We are currently studying The Present World, and our fall study will be on Celebrating God.

  • War Room: Large Fellowship Hall The War room Sunday school class is a combination of young adults and a few Baby Boomers. We welcome all ages as we strive to better understand the world around us, like the battles and challenges we face daily. We seek God’s word and guidance to help us navigate daily life.

  • Westminster Class: Westminster Hall Studying Present Word Series- We start with a hymn and end in prayer. We are the oldest adult class in existence. We rotate teaching among the class members.

  • Truth Seekers: Parlor The Truth Seekers class meets in the parlor. Our curriculum is an in depth study of various books of the Bible. Currently we are studying Psalm 23. We invite you to join us.

Youth and Children: We have Sunday school for youth and our young children located in the educational wing.

Nursery care is provided on Sunday mornings for children younger than two years old. The crib nursery is located in Room 114. The toddler nursery is on the preschool hall in Room 110.

Wednesday Night Live!

Dinner and programs for adults, youth and children are offered Wednesday nights during the school year (September through early May). The cost of the meal is met through donations (we suggest $5.00 per person) and programs vary throughout the year. Nursery care is provided for children younger than kindergarten. No reservations are required.
