FPCA Preschool
First Presbyterian Church offers a morning preschool program for children aged 2 through 5, September through May. Our teachers and support staff are dedicated to providing a multifaceted learning environment, so that each child may grow not only educationally, but also spiritually, socially, physically, and emotionally. We want our preschooler to experience Christian principles in action. It is our goal to create for each child a desire for wonder, a love of learning, and creative experiences.

Our Staff
Our experienced staff and full-time director provide developmentally-based learning, creative experiences, directed play, field trips, and regular parent-teacher conferences, in a quality, non-profit program.
Our Facility, Rates & Hours
Our facility includes a safe and well-equipped outdoor play area. Tuition rates are reasonable, and scholarship assistance is available based on need. Our preschool program operates during the public school year, from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Our holidays correspond with the Asheboro City Schools’ Schedule. Early drop off is available at 7: 45 a.m., beginning September 11th, for $2.00 extra per day, for preschool children. Children who attend early drop off cannot stay for Lunch Bunch due to state guidelines limiting hours in part-time programs
Age Groups
Regular preschool classes are offered for the following age groups: 2-year-old classes meet two days a week, either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. 3-year-old classes meet either 2 days a week, Tuesday/Thursday; or three days a week, Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday/Friday. 4 & 5-year-olds can choose a 2-day class, Tuesday/Thursday; a 3-day class, Monday/Wednesday/Friday; or a 5-day class, Monday-Friday. Creative Movement & Music
We have a creative movement/music program integrated into our preschool curriculum. Each class takes part in the program several times a week. This program provides the children with creative movement activities that incorporate shape and number recognition, yoga, animal movements, bean bags, etc. The music program introduces children to hand bells, creating new songs for different units, movement with music, rhythm sticks and musical instruments. Creative movement helps to enhance learning.
